Printers no longer shared!
I cannot find a way to show sharing of the 3 printers on one of my W7 32 bit
home premium laptops. My XP and Vista laptops cannot see these printers. They did a week ago. My other W7 laptop still sees them and can print to them. What did I do? These nasty updates? TIA, Paul When you set the share up on the XP/Vista did use \\Server\sharename or \\IP\sharename? Has either changed? Verify permissions on share are correct and/or have not changed. Has workgroup changed? If all fails try deleting the share at the host and readd the share. FWIW..I have applied all security patches and have not lost my printer share or encountered BSOD. Good Luck |

Verify permissions on share are correct and/or have not changed. ???? Has workgroup changed? No, all my computers are in @HOME If all fails try deleting the share at the host and re-add the share. That's my original question - how to turn on share on the printers that the W7 laptop has. I have now moved one of the printers to it's own Ethernet cable. My XP netbook cannot see that printer, but can see it thru my other W7 laptop and can print that indirect way. What the *$#& is going ion? FWIW..I have applied all security patches and have not lost my printer share or encountered BSOD. So I probably made my own mess - I do tend to make adjustments. Now my XP goes thru some lengthy process before returning from a standby, hibernate, restart, etc. Good Luck I need it! |
