User Account Not Accessible from Welcome Page

One of the user accounts on our family computer suddenly opens the TEMP
desktop, folders, etc., instead of the user's. The user's folders are still
visible in Windows Explorer, but e-mail downloading has been cut-off as the
user cannot log on with previous profile, including Outlook. How can the
user's profile be restored to activate with the former log on icon?
