I had this too, and seemd to fix it by doing this from a
previously posted answer... seemed to be
a need to register softpub.dll

Do the following:

Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

I can no longer access messenger or hotmail , it just
says the username or password you have entered are
incorrect, the same with all users on the pc. We are
running xp. Have you any idea whats going on and how

this
can be fixed?

Melanie Stratten
