Default Auto-detecting + Auto-activating/switching to the current internet connection possible ?

On my notebook I have two possible network connections:

In office a use a fixed wired line to our inhouse-LAN.

Outside I use frequently WiFi/WLAN connection.

Currently I have always to switch manually between them (e.g. enter a new fixed, non-DHCP IP)
and furthermore deactivate/disable the LAN and enable/activate the WLAN adapter resp. vice versa.

Is there a trick to let WinXP investigate automatically wether a LAN exists or a WLAN
and auto-activate the currently best internet connection?

Ken
