Default HP Deskjet Problem

I hate to tell you but... it is possible. HP is not
writing xp drivers for some of their old printers. You
need to leave the old printer on the old computer and
network your computers. You can then print from the new
machine over the network.

I am migrating to XP Home from W98 and, although I can
print to my 1120C and the printer control panel shows it
as connected and working. However, on my old 98 machine

I
had a separate control window to run diagnostics,
reallign/clean the jets etc but I can't find it in XP. I
can't load it from the original disk either - get a
message saying disk is not readable. HP's web site says
the 1120C is not supported by XP - can this be possible?
