Default Problem installing HP842c printer to new laptop with USB port

I am trying to install an HP 842C printer to my laptop and it keeps telling me the document failed to print. As far as I can tell I have it all right. I have gone through the troubleshooter and nothing works. Do I need the original software from the prin
ter to install it? I may not have it here now so if that is it I will have to wait. It says it is installed but I am beginning to wonder. Anyone out ther able to help?

Uninstall and then reinstall your printer using the instructions at:
