Default clickable e-mail and file links

I know about the enableURL regedit hack to enable http addresses. What about
mailto and file addresses? How do you enable those?

Well, that certainly makes me sad panda. Windows Messenger would be such a
better corporate IM tool if we could send more than hypertext links.
