Stu: The services run only when they're supposed to run. Otherwise they
would occupy RAM for no reason. Earl Grey Stu wrote: The majority of my "services" are ticked but are "stopped". How can I change them to "running"? Can anyone help. Thanks |

Thanks for the info, however, maybe you can help further.
the service "windows audio" is "stopped" and I can't play any music. In addition the Start "help & support" wont load and indicates "winows cannot open help and support as a system service is not running" Any Ideas? To start a service: Start Run type: services.msc OK look in the
right-hand column for 'Help and Support' and for 'Windows Audio'. In either case, double-click on the service and it will open to the General tab. Start the service by clicking on the Start button in 'Service status'. In the 'Startup type' drop-down box select Automatic. For each service click on the Apply button when you are done, then click on OK. Don't know if you need to restart your computer after all is done, but it won't hurt. Now both services will load on startup and will run whenever they are needed. The error message means that your service depends on another service
which also needs to start. This is why it's best not to fool around with your services. Make sure these services are started:

Using a website stinks for newsgroups. You write a message and it's not
replied to the original thead nor is there any quote from the original thread, so nobody has any idea who you are replying to.
