Anyone noticed that Win 10 Update process does NOT ask for permission to
install programs? There is no UAC prompt....

You failed to explain why Win 10's Update process does NOT trigger the
usual UAC prompt...

Windows Update is an internal function, part of the OS.

You can "accelerate" it by clicking the button to check
for updates.

The service is not a function of your account, it
does maintenance for the whole (multi-user) machine.

Windows Update uses the TrustedInstaller token.

Task Scheduler uses the SYSTEM account by default,
but I believe you can assign a different account
to a scheduled task.

It's only something "started" as a user, where you
need UAC control to prevent unnecessary elevation.

An account can "Belong to administrator group" or
"not belong to administrator group". For the latter,
why would there be a UAC prompt ? Accounts with dual-roles,
need a prompt.

Paul
