Default How to remove "scanner and camera" entry in control panel under Windows XP

I tried everything but could not manage to get rid off the "Scanner
and Camera" component in my control panel.

Can anybody plz help me to hide it (it actually slows my computer a
lot each time i get onto it (in my start menu)).

Thanks for your help.

Hello!

The "Scanners and Cameras" is a special folder and not a CPL file. To remove
the entry from Control Panel, edit the registry key:

First backup the specific key for safety.

Delete this key:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E211B736-43FD-11D1-9EFB-0000F8757FCD}]

More information on special folders:

Regards,
Ramesh
