Default Beginner's Question: Adding a 2nd Monitor

Hello

I just got a new 22" monitor, which my Nvidia Quadro FX3000 is able
to drive without problems (I'm not a gamer - just regular office type
applications user).

Instead of eBaying my old 17" monitor, I thought maybe I can use it to
increase my monitor real estates. But when I hooked it up to the
second DVI port on the FX3000 card, everything just slowed down to a
crawl, obviously the card can't handle 2 monitors.

Do you think it would help If I installed a second PCI video card? I
don't have any experience building systems so I've no idea if that
would work. Also, my system manual says that I have slots of type:100
MHz/64-bit PCI-X, are these regular PCI, or PCI-Express-2.0, or PCI-
Express-x1, or PCI-Express-x16 ?

THANKS!

System Info: WinXP Pro. Dual AMD 248 Opteron. 2GB Ram. nvidia quadro
fx 3000

Try running the exhibitor pro, from microsoft, you'll find it under encoder
downloads. The software is specifically for running 2 or more monitors at
same time...
