Problems importing video from digital camera to WMM
I have Windows XP and I also have a PowerShot A75 digital camera by Canon and I recorded a video that I wanted to import into Windows Movie Maker but everytime I try I get this message... The file C:\Documents and Settings\rentacenter\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\8R6TU9WX\MVI_0833[1] is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker. It doesn't make any sense to me cause on my old computer the video's imported just fine into windows movie maker (I had XP and same camera and everything!) So what's going on and is there anyway to import my videos! -- Dreamamb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dreamamb's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=50220 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=974250 http://forums.techarena.in |

Third...the PowerShot A75 creates .avi movie clips...your example has no extension... what if you copy the file to your desktop and rename it to: MVI_0833.avi ? And maybe you have "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" checked in folder options? Finally you may need to download and install a codec for the .avi format. The following free- ware can identify the codec you need: GSpot http://tinyurl.com/cjkta or... http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...ed/GSpot.shtml GSpot Super Quick Start http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/quick_start.html Assessing Video Files and Codecs with GSpot http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Pa.../68/Gspot.aspx -- John Inzer Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

Problems importing video from digital camera to WMM
*First...why is your video in your TIF folder?* I have no idea...it just did that on its own. *Second...can you play the clip in Windows Media Player?* Yes I can but it gives a warning saying it may not come from a realiable source or something like that. I'll try the things you suggested and see if it works. Thanks! -- Dreamamb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dreamamb's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=50220 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=974251 http://forums.techarena.in |
