Default audio doesn't stay synched with video

I'm trying to burn a movie file about 68 minutes long onto a dvd to play on a
dvd player. It starts out okay, and on the preview screen on movie maker
everything looks pretty good, but when I save it to a dvd I try to watch it
and the audio after about 20 minutes gets about 2-5 seconds ahead of the
video. The video file is an .avi, and the audio is the original audio that
should be on the video to begin with. I can't figure out how I can keep the
audio in sync with the video, any thoughs?

What program are you using to encode and burn the DVD. Different programs do
it with varying degrees of success.
