Default Problem with Remote Desktop

Remote desktop has stopped working. The box says: Remote Desktop
Disconnected.....The Remote Computer has ended the Session. I get this
message when I try to connect. No connection is ever made.
It worked before and no changes have been made.
This is Windows XP with SP2. Remote desktop is enabled, firewall has been
disabled. can ping the computer and can connect to the administrative share.
Everything works fine except for remote desktop. The user is an
administrator and I tried connecting to the ip address instead of the
computer name and get the same message.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have a good day! Thanks

Hi,

Have you physically checked the other machine for problems?

Yes, I have, there is no problem with remote desktop to other computers,
just the one in question.
Thanks,

Default Problem with Remote Desktop

Hi,

Maybe I wasn't clear. If you can connect to other machines, then problem
isn't the machine you are using to connect - it has to be the one you are
connecting to. If you are unable to connect to, you may need to go to
(meaning walk/drive/run/send a friend) the machine in question to see if
there is a problem with it.

Right. Does it seem to be operating normally otherwise? Is there a user
currently logged on (often you will get an access error if no eligible user
is left logged into the system)? Did it lock up or freeze (I've seen a
machine have the GUI lockup, but still respond to pings)? Dump and restart?
That's why I am saying someone needs to be physically at the machine that
cannot be accessed in order to determine what the issue is.

Yes, I have checked the machine and everything "seems" normal. It can
remote desktop to other computers
but you cannot remote desktop to it. Remote desktop is enabled and the
firewall has been turned off.
Thanks
