Default Changing Regional Language Settings on WinXP

I'm cross-posting to various microsoft.public.* groups – my apologies
for the wasted bandwidth.

I have a problem trying to help someone. She's a friend of my mother
and she bought a used PC. With it came the Korean version of XP
installed and she also has the CD. She doesn't know much about
computers and doesn't read English at all. She wants to get DSL
connection and add a soundcard. I'm trying to help her install the
features.

However, I don't read/understand Korean at all. Big language problems.
Her PC was originally installed w/ the Korean version of WinXP - all the
fonts/displays are in Korean, no English words whatsoever in the Korean
version of WinXP.

I did the following:

1) Re-installed the English version of WinXP (my version) on her PC.
This wiped out the Korean version of WinXP.
2) Installed the DSL.
3) Installed the soundcard and drivers.

I want to change the font/displays back to Korean.

Now, I have the English WinXP Professional version while she has the
Korean WinXP Home version. I tried to just change the Regional Language

(Settings-Control Panel-Regional and Language Options) to Korean. But
that just shows a few features in Korean. It doesn't show everything in
Korean as it did perviously when her PC was running the Korean version
of WinXP. I need to do that so she can use the PC with the DSL and
soundcard.

If I re-install the Korean version of WinXP, all the DSL and soundcard
installations will be wiped out and I need to re-install again. I am
willing to do so but I don't understand Korean so that will be a
problem. Plus I am not comfortable navigating on just icons alone.

My question is, can I do the following?

1) Re-install her Korean version of WinXP.
2) Change the Regional Language to English
3) Install the DSL and soundcard.
4) Change the Regional Language back to Korean.

Will the Korean version of WinXP be able to display in English?

I am stuck on this. I'm helping her out for free as a favor. She could
get a Korean-speaking IT person to help her out but she might have to
pay. Could anyone give me some information on this? It would be very
appreciated. Please contact me directly at the email below because I
don’t always get an opportunity to log on to the newsgroup.

Thanx in advance,
Doomster
