Default MCI Command Handling ......

Hi
I wonder if anyone has any ideas about the following:

When I soft-boot (and sometimes on a hard boot) when I
click on my name to login to XP (HE), I see the 'loading
your settings' text, but then get an error window saying
the following:

MCI command handling Window: winlogin.exe - application
error
The instruction at "0x77f83aed" referenced memory
at "0x00440052". The memory could not be "written".
Click OK to terminate the program
Click CANCEL to debug the program

Sometimes when i reboot and "F8" to start with the last
known good config, all works fine. Sometimes if i login to
a different user account, all works fine. Sometimes
nothing helps and I try again later and everything works
(???)

Any ideas?.........please

Many thanks
Steve

Thanks for your help Rick

Had done a full AV scan with NAV2004, didn't show
anything, but disabled Sys Restore, 'sorted' the registry,
and rebooted..............it worked!

Thanks again
Steve
