volume control icon on my taskbar.
Tried to load the sandvol32.exe file of the Winxp back
into the the system 32 file in Windows folder but it
gives me a message that there is no destination folder in
to copy the file to. HMMMM??

try the following:

open control panel
switch to classic view (if you are currently in category view; if not skip
this line)
open sounds and audio devices
check place volume icon in the taskbar.

i hope this helps.
