Default SFC and SP2

Can anyone please tell me what is the situation with XP after you have
installed SP2 and want to run SFC /Scannow.

Does SP2 have to be reinstalled or what is the situation there please.

Hi Joe,

No, you don't have to reinstall the service pack. The system is smart enough
to know which files were updated and should be replaced with the same.

Joe;
No, SP-2 will not need to be reinstalled.
That is the purpose of "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles"
SFC will also look there.
Some delete this file thinking it unnecessary but find the error of their
ways when sfc /scannow is used.
