Default 2 xp installations on one hard drive

I've had to reinstall xp on a couple of computers in my
district and when I use the xp cd to reinstall I delete
the old partition and create a new one then format using
NTFS format. well when all is said and done the computer
reboots and asks me which xp I would like to load and it
shows 2 xp operating systems well one works if you select
it but the other one doesn't it just goes into a black
screen. so how do you delete the one that doesn't work?

You will have to take the bad entry out of the boot.ini file.
