Default WebCaman MS firewall

Using the WebCam works only if I turn off the MS firewall. Is that so? Or is there a way around?

Greetings,

Do you mean the 'Webcam' function within MSN Messenger 6, or do you mean the 'Start Camera'
function within Windows Messenger (or MSN Messenger 5)?

If the 'Webcam' function within MSN Messenger 6, yes, you may need to turn off the firewall
as it doesn't automatically open the necessary ports (it will try to use a relay server, or
do a reverse connection, but if this fails, it may not work). If you mean the 'Start Camera'
function within Windows Messenger, the built-in firewall should automatically open the
necessary ports, however, will only do so if you're currently logged into a Windows XP
account with administrative privileges.
