Problem with User Profile
Hi, am running XP Pro with 2 user profiles. I am experiencing a problem with
one profile and not the other. With the problem profile, the PC hangs shortly after log-in and goes to a blue screen. Whenever I re-boot, it does a check disk and the consistent error is that "ntuser.dat.log entry is not valid". So my theory (and I would welcome challenge) is that if I delete and re-create the profile, it may solve the problem? What do you think? Also, if I do delete the profile and I accept the option to delete files, what does this routine actually delete? (I want to back up relevant files to restore later). I know it deletes the user's Favorites and "My Documents", but what else? Many thanks for your assistance! -- Best regards, Adam |
