Default usb problem

Hi
i have got a problem with usb on my notebook with usb 1 ports, it runs
well with the usb adsl modem and one memory key but it doesnt run with
my hd usb2 and another memry key, all the periferics are usb2 and the
notebook has usb1. the system is win xp sp1, the driver is usbstdr.sys,
version 5.1.2600.1106.
why somethimes it runs and somethimes not???
what can i do???

If your notebook only supports USB 1.1, then you have no other choice
but to purchase a USB 2.0 bus card and use it in one of your PCMCIA
slots. The card will come with drivers.
