Samsung d900 software installation

Hi, Just got a new phone. I installed the software (not clear from the disc
what exactly to install!!) and conected the phone via USB when prompted. It
recognised the phone then the New Hardware pop-up flashed up asking for
either a web search or disc to install bits and pieces to make the USB
connection. I removed hte USB and uninstalled (I've had these problems
before) and re-installed and now when I connect the phone I get nothing...no
recognised harware and no pop-up asking me for to anything else. It's like
the PC doesn't know that anything is connected. Any ideas anyone?

Try uninstalling all associated with the phone software,restart pc a time or
two and have removed usb phone hardware.Once completed,replug phone
in but use other usb connection.In xp,when the "found new hardware wizard"
starts,install phone software cd,xp should load the needed auto...
