Default "Windows Explorer has Stopped Working."

Win7 SP1 Nvidia/GeForce

This is happening all the time when I try to
rename or create folders in the left-hand pane of
Windows Explorer. As far as I can tell this
started about the time I upgraded Nvidia/GeForce.

The error message:

If it involves thumbnails, there are a couple
tools here for looking at them. One for newer,
one for older OSes.

http://code.google.com/p/thumbcache-viewer/
http://code.google.com/p/thumbs-viewer/

One of the web pages also has advice on how
to clean out the thumbnails. It looks like
it might be available on later OSes. My
WinXP has no "Disk Cleanup" entry for thumbnails
that I can see. But the later OSes might.

Many thanks to all.
I downloaded the "ShellExView" from

and ran it.

As suggested at Nirsoft, I displayed all the
relevant shell files (ie the non-Microsoft ones)
and hacked thru and disabled the latest ones one
by one.

The Nvidia ones were innocent, but the culprit
turned out to be....

FlingContextMenu Yes Context Menu No No
No No No No C:\Program Files
(x86)\NCH Software\Fling\fldll64.dll
{A15A5877-34E6-470D-8D61-45FB4BF771B9} 11-Aug-13
11:08:44 AM 11-Aug-13 11:08:46 AM No *,
Folder, opensearchfilefolderresult A 92,160
No

which is part of an FTP program.

I'll try removing the 'Fling' software, but should
I re-enable the shell first?

I'm not familiar with that program but usually you don't have to
uninstall the program, just disable the contextual menu item in
Shellexview to stop the explorer crashes.

Jim

Thanks, I just deleted it. All is still well.
