Default !!Programs running in task bar won't show!

I just reformated my 80gig h/d and loaded win xp pro:
Intel=AE Desktop Board D845EBG2 based system Board model
Genuine Intel=AE D845EBG2 system board
OS version Windows* XP version 5.1 Service Pack 1 build=20
2600
OS memory 523,056 KB RAM
Intel=AE Pentium=AE 4 CPU 2.40GHz
512 MB RAM
DDR266
I am having this problem. I have some programs that I=20
have installed that are suppose to load when windows=20
starts and remain in the task bar, i.e. I have a program=20
called hot fax message center that is a answering machine=20
and a fax I also have a cookie monitor and also Intel=20
Active Monitor. All of these programs are running but I=20
can't see the Icons. I have made sure the options are set=20
to load when Windows starts. I have gone into my task bar=20
properties and have set to show. I also have items in the=20
custom area that say past. How do I remove them? Some of=20
them are no longer in my system. I have uninstalled these=20
programs and reinstalled them. But when I reboot they=20
don't show. I have tried to install the program again,=20
but Windows says the program is already running. Any=20
suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have exhausted=20
all of my resources =20
Regards,
Arm
