Where did you get the sound scheme you are currently using?

Go to C:\windows\media. In that folder are all the .wav sounds that are
currently in use. zip them up or whatever and take them to the other
computer.

As far as I know, you can't transfer the "custom sound scheme". You'll
have to set up a new sound scheme on the new computer that mirrors your
older computer's sound scheme. I'm sure there is a record of the
specific sound files for your current sound scheme but I don't know
where it would be.

If you find a way to do this be sure to post back with the solution and
let's see what Twayne comes up with.

I don't think a "scheme" is a finite file you can simply pick up and
copy to another machine; it's just a definitions list kept somewhere in
one of the system files, most likely along with other system
information. It's likely not something you could simply copy to another
machine but I'm not certain of that.
If the other machine has all the needed .wav's, then just write them
down and duplicate it on the other one. There aren't that many of them,
really. Make your own "scheme" by creating a new folder under the
\media\ folder to hold the needed wav files.

I'm afraid that's all I have.

Default I am looking for the shcme I saved, not all the wav files, whichare already

As you know, or rather should know. Everything and every setting found in Windows XP and indeed all windows OS are listed and contained within the registry.
Thus your personal sound schemes of all users including default sound schemes can be found in your registry on every computer you have.
Therefore I suggest you look-up the name that you gave to the scheme you made. Then open registry editor (I prefer REGENIE but xp default is adequate) now search for the name of your scheme and EXPORT the entire "key" which contains your listed wav files to a sd card or usb storeage device.
Now take the copy to your other computer or transfer via network if you are networking. Open the registry key file on that computer and MERGE the key! Simple?
Then open your sound scheme applet and look at the list of schemes. Bingo! Select the scheme as it has the same name you used originally!
Note the registry is only addressed during the XP boot sequence. You must restart windows to activate your new scheme, or indeed any other changes made to the registry.
Enjoy but ALWAYS create a SYSTEM RESTORE before making changes to the registry..
Then you can revert to what you had before at any point in time!
Feel free to contact me as I am happy to offer help.
