Default help system restore

running XP home with SPII, all updates. When I go into my computer,
properties, system restore the computer locks up. Error messages get sent.
When I got into administration, services, it says system restore is on,
automatic. I only have a recovery disk not the windows XP disc for this
computer (though I have an XP disk from another computer). thanks for any
help;

The only way I can help is to suggest that you quickly look into buying a
good cloning/backup program like Acronis True Image.
Then invest in another HD so that you can Clone/Image/backup your
HD/Personal files/etc.
In this way when something goes seriously wrong you have a working up to
date Clone/Image/Backup.
Quite a few systems sold with "recovery Disks" will only revert back to
factory state....all else will be gone.
