Can not make voice and video work. Both locations using
Linksys BEFSR41 routers connected to broadband
connections. UPnP is enabled on both the WinXP machines
and in each router.

Is there some kind of test site I can connect to verify
each end is working properly? Wasn't there something
like that for NetMeeting?

Eric;

Do both of you have the DMZ server open, example your machine is designated
192.168.1.100 DMZ should reflect that at both routers, (Linksys example)
your machine and your friends. With MSIM 5.0 you then should be able to
talk and if available, video......

BEfSR41 is UPNP enabled make sure you have the latest firmware installed.
That should do it for you.
