Default Problem with disappearing ICONS, not those that have hiden due to inactivity

Hi Folks

For some reason every so often my desktop seems to reset itself and
when it comes back half the icons that are in the icon bar are
missing. Even clicking the hidden area they are still not there. It
is mainly programs that start up and are only mainly active in the
icon bar, ie avg etc. What would cause this, seems to have mainly
started as SP1 was installed

Go here and download TweakUI, it has a repair icon utility that is quite good.
