How can you save the desktop picture to a file without all the desktop icons
and taskbar at the bottom?

Is there some utility to do this?

Thanks

Hi,

Actully the back ground that is in the Desktop is already a wall
paper picture file which can be opened with an image editor. To know which
picture is currently set right click on the destop and choose properties.
click on the desktop tab, you can see the currently selected picture file.

Also you can get by right click on the desktop and choose Arrange by
icons and select option show the destop icons, now the icons on the desktop
will disappear. Now right click on the taskbar and choose properties and
check the Auto hide option. Now if you move the mouse to the right top
corner and press print screen. Open the mspaint and paste you can get the
clear picture which is in the desktop without the icons.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks, that helps. When I press PrintScreen, I still get a tiny band of
the task bar at the bottm, but that's OK.
