SDK / API
Where is the Windows Messenger SDK? It looks like maybe it used to be on the
Microsoft web site, but it's not there now. I can see lots of documentation on IMessenger, IMessenger2, etc interfaces and they say that I need msgrua.h and msgrua.idl, but those files cannot be found anywhere. Has that API been replaced with something else or is there no longer an API? |

SDK / API
Greetings,
No it's still there and with the exception of the Windows Live Messenger Add-In managed API (only for Windows Live Messenger), it's still in every Messenger version (to various degrees). If you need the header files, just toss me an e-mail and I'll be happy to send them to you. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2006 Jonathan Kay. Thanks for the reply.
I would like the header files, and I assume there's an IDL file, too. But why aren't the SDK files available for download from the web? I don't want to post my email address here for spammers. Hi,
I actually can't answer that question as I really don't know. What I can tell you is that the Windows Messenger team has been split up for about two years, so there's really no one left to complain to about it. I didn't ask you to post your e-mail address here; I asked you to e-mail me using my address on here which is valid. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2006 Jonathan Kay.
