Default Explorer crashes in 1 profile but not the others

Hi,
the subject line really says what my problem is - Explorer works in the
other 4 profiles I have on my machine - however in 1 of the profiles it
crashes when you try to access a web page.

I tend to get 1 web page before getting the " Microsoft Explorer has
encountered a problem" fault message.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

thanks for any help.

Fraser

First place to start: Please fix your time and / or time zone setting.
Next:
Run these tools in the problem user account:
spybot -- http://www.safer-networking.org/
ad-aware -- http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
HiJackThis - http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

Thank Guys - not sure what you mean by "set your time correctly" - I've set
the time and zone to the right time and also synchronised it with the
Internet clock. - but still teh same problem.

When I try to access the web pages mentioend IE 6 doe sthe same as before
crashes after 1 page.

Any more ideas - am I setting the clock correctly?

Your time is still off, unless you are in a time zone where it's 10 PM at
the time you sent the message. Double click on the clock, usually bottom
right of the screen, set the time and date and choose "apply" then ok out.

Hey - thanks for your help - the problem has gone after running the various
adaware etc. clean up programs.

One final question - I notice in the task window of all profiles a task
called pup.exe - - anyone know what his is and how I can remove it if it is
not "normal" ???

Thanks again.

Well your not quite clean yet. Most of the references to pup.exe I find
point to a virus. Do a virus scan with updated virus definitions and always
run and av program such as the free version of AVG(www.grisoft.com).
