flashing up a blue screen with white writing that I dont have time to read. It then restarts. Ive looked for viruses and found non and down loaded all the suggested updates from microsoft updates. Any suggestions on what is going on and how I can correct it. I have a thesis to write!!!! |

In all probability it's a hardware fault (memory, power supply, cracked component, etc.). Seek help via the manufacturer's support web site. |

Andy, take a look in Event Viewer. Those blue screen messages should be recorded in the System or Application portions of that program. The type of STOP error, a driver file name or program file name that you may find in these records could be very helpful clues that you can use to advance your troubleshooting efforts. Event Viewer is one of the Administrative Tools. You can launch it from Control Panel Administrative Toolts Event Viewer. You can also start it using Start Run eventvwr.msc -- Sharon F MS MVP - Windows Shell/User |
