Default Access Denied

I had to reload Windows XP and my preivous documents are
there for my wife's screen name but when trying to access
my previous documents folder it says access is denied.
The only difference between that I can tell is that I
created my same user name and my previous doucuments
folder is inside my new documents folder. How can I get
past this, I even went to the dos prompt to try to access
the foler and it still said access denied. Any
suggestions. Thanks

You need to take ownership of the files. Look up "take ownership" in
your Help & Support.

Default Access Denied

Hi,

They are "owned" by the previous installation's user. It's more than just a
name thing, meaning just using the same username is not enough, it's related
to SID's (Secure ID's). Anyhow, provided they weren't encrypted, you simply
need to retake ownership:
