Default Video alterations

Hi, i am trying to free some space up on my hard drive
since i am running out. I want to do this by putting all
the videos i have on my computer onto CD's but most of
them are over 700MB and the CD's i have can only hold
700MB. My question is, is there any programs that i can
buy so that i can make my videos files smaller by taking
away unwanted scenes from the beggin/end or by altering
the videos resolution and compression. If anyone knows a
good one please let me know it will save me a lot of time
is finding one on the net. Thanks for your help.

Chris,

You can use just about any NLE program for this sort of thing (I.E.,
MovieMaker). Here's another idea. You could record your video back onto
tape if you have a DV camera. You can get an hour (sometimes more) on a
tape and you won't lose any resolution using firewire.
