Unable to see other computers OR connect in hotel
are u trying to connect two laptops or a pc and laptop??? and what kind of internet connection u trying to share?? oh and who's modem??? -----Original Message----- I tried connecting to another a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=laptop&v=55"laptop/a running XP using a crossover cable, and we couldn't see each other. We both ran the a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=networking&v=55"networking/a wizard, rebooted, reconnected cables, etc., but no luck. The other user could see himself, but not me. I could not even see myself in a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=Network&v=55"Network/a Places. No a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=firewall&v=55"firewall/a was being used. I also tried connecting to a a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=hotel&v=55"hotel/a a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=network&v=55"network/a for some high speed a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=internet&v=55"internet/a, but no luck. This made me think that my a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=network&v=55"network/a a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=card&v=55"card/a was fried, but when I connect at a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php? q=home&v=55"home/a with my DSL modem, it works without problems. Any ideas? Gage . |
