Hello. Does XP Professional allow sharing a fax modem within a home network? I currently have XP Home edition running on my desktop and laptop. I would like to have the ability to share the desktop's fax modem with both computers, but it doesn't look like
XP Home allows it. Any assistance would be appreciated. |

The ability to share a modem is a function of a server-level OS only, therefore, neither Home nor Pro supports it. |

No version of Windows XP supports fax modem sharing. That is now a feature
of Server only products like the Windows 2003 Server family. For a two PC setup, it's probably out of your price range, but should you decide to expand in the futu http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/default.mspx It's a great product! I highly recommend it. But then I have six PCs here and run my own webserver! -- Cari MS-MVP Windows Technologies - Printing/Imaging/Hardware www.coribright.com "JM" wrote in message ... Hello.
