accented characters
I have a problem with displaying the '=ED' character in =20
any text editor under xp.I ensured that the keyboard and=20 the regional setting was right , English(irish).. They are usually displayed by using a key combination of=20 Altgr and the ,a,e,i,o,u, to display =E1,=E9,=ED,=F3,=FA. They work with the exception of the =ED. I tried more than one editor , notepad,=20 wordpad, word97, and all have the same problem. Tried to=20 reinstall the service pack1 for xp installed ok ...but no=20 result.=20 I wonder if anybody else has come across=20 this. I Know that the ALT+0237 keystrokes work but the=20 typist is trained to use the AltGr key plus the vowel (a,e,i,o,u), i wonder if it is the device driver for the=20 keyboard or the particular HAL that is loaded for this=20 chip set? it's a DELL Machine Thanks in advance.=20 Joe |
