printing stalls
Today I needed to print some pages (from internet Explorer 7), and every
time printing stalls after having printed about halfway the page. This is lousy... when you need to have something functioning most, it lets you down! I have Googled, and found the problem mentioned many times, but no obvious solutions :-( One of them mentioned to use the ©MS printerdriver instead of ©HP driver, but I have only installed the ©MS driver. Any ideas? Windows XP SP3 HP DeskJet 720C (parallel) -- regards, |\ /| | \/ |@rk \../ \/os |

You should check your System Event log for printing errors.
Click Start, Run (type) EventVwr.Msc [Enter] Expand the System category and check for Red Icons in the Right Pane. It's frustrating, but Windows is a platform and in many of these situations it's not a Microsoft issue but one of drivers. Microsoft does not write the driver it simply supplies it with Windows as provided by the vendor. "Linea Recta" wrote in message ... Any ideas? Windows XP SP3 HP DeskJet 720C (parallel) regards, \/os Have you re-configured the printer software to print to A5 paper (and changed from portrate to landscape) in error? The standard answer to printer problems is to re-install the driver software. That solves many problems. If that doesn't work we need to investigate the problem (at the risk of asking obvious questions) before coming up with a diagnosis. Have you printed to the HP Deskjet 720C successfully. If yes, what software (either downloaded or from CD/DVD) or hardware have you installed since it last worked successfully. Bill Ridgeway |

Install the HP printer driver, check HP site for any Firmware update,
specific to your printer "Linea Recta" wrote in message ... "R. McCarty" schreef in bericht ... You should check your System Event log for printing errors. I would recommend checking the event log in event viewer, it should tell you what's going on or not going on and should be able to narrow down what the problem is - Driver issue, Internet Explorer issue etc.. |
