Default Searching to see if a particular Windows Update has been made

Many times here there are discussions here about particular
Windows Updates and whether or not they have been applied on
computers. For example, a current one I have seen being mentioned
is KB3065822.
When I am trying to see if my computer has had a particular
update, the only thing I know to do is to open Control Panel,
Windows Updates, View Update History and look at each item in the
update history to see if that KB item is shown. This is tedious

Is there an easier way to look for particular updates?

1) Control Panel Programs and Features
2) Select "View installed updates" in the left panel
3) Use the search box "Search Installed Updates" at the top right.

Upper right is a search box. I just noticed it my self !!

I've used it, but when I attempted to use the search
a second time, it didn't actually work any more!

You need to type in the complete search term as "KB3065822",
as just typing the number part doesn't work.

So, yes, there is a search in the upper right, but it is
temperamental.

The 'Upper right' Search option is in Programs and Features/View
Installed Updates as opposed to the op's route ...View Update History.

That Search option can be quite temperamental. It works best first time
and also when using an exact search string.

Found this once on the web someplace... Works, but I can't take credit.

Some programs, such as Belarc Advisor, will include a list of updates in an overall analysis of what is on your
computer. This type of comprehensive survey of your computer’s contents is worthwhile but there is also an easier way to
get a list of Windows updates. This method takes advantage of the command line and requires no installation of
additional software. Open the command prompt and enter this command:

wmic qfe list brief /format:htable "%USERPROFILE%\hotfix.html"

This produces a nicely formatted list in an HTML file named hotfix.html that gets placed in the User folder. You can, of
course, change the destination to some other convenient location. If there are any spaces in the name of a folder that
you choose, don’t forget to wrap the destination name in quotes, as is done in the commands given in this tip.
If you would rather have a text file, the command would be:

wmic qfe list brief /format:texttablewsys "%USERPROFILE%\hotfix.txt"
