"DMA"
When I try to burn a DVD using my DVD Recorder it tells me that "DMA" is
turned off and that I need to turn it on. It suggests using Windows Help to do so, but that gets me nowhere. How do I turn it on? |

I checked that page out - Once I clicked the "System" icon in Control Panel
none of the things it told me were located on the menu - no "Settings" tab and no "DMA" check box. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it is a laptop I am trying to do it on. Hi Chi,
Right click on My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, double click on IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, double click on Primary IDE Channel, click on the Advanced Settings tab, under Transfer Mode chose DMA if available. Do the same with Secondary IDE Channel. EAG1945 "Chi" wrote in message ...
