Default System not loading - SP2 just installed

Hey

I installed SP2 just now on my dads computer. However
somethings stuffed up.

The installation says "sp2 has been installed blah
blah""restart now?"

I restarted, it begins loading windows, however around
5seconds later a blue screen comes up. I cannot read what
this blue screen says because it flash's for 0.2seconds
before restarting the computer. I've tried using the pause
butten, but no luck.

Ive tried loading windows with "last known working
configuration" didn't work...

Any ideas how to fix this?

Sys specs are

amd 2000xp
256MB ram
win xp home

thanks in advance

I had exactly the same problem. What I did was boot in=20
Safe Mode then removed SP2. I'm now back to how I was=20
before and still looking for the answer.

Default System not loading - SP2 just installed

Just found this http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3D878474

Mine is an AMD64 - the article gives a solution if your=20
computer uses mpegport.sys but NOT if it has an AMD 64=20
bit processor!

Does this mean that SP2 is NOT compatable with the AMD 64=20
Bit processors?

HELP!!!!
