Problems installing Windows XP
When I start up my computer (New, No OS) it recognizes the
XP cd in the drive and will start the setup process. After doing it for about 4 min or so it sends me to a screen that prompts me to Hit Enter to continue setting windows up, to Hit R to perform a recovery, or to Hit F3 to quit setup. When I hit Enter to continue, it restarts the computer and does this whole thing all over again. If I take the disk out of the drive, I am taken to a blank screen and nothing happens. |

Problems installing Windows XP
Hi Clinton,
Disconnect all unnecessary peripherals. Enter the system BIOS and = recheck all hardware detection settings. Disable any BIOS level virus = detection. Do NOT overclock anything. Reinsert the CD and boot to it once more. Choose new installation and = format first (there may be some remnants from the prior attempts = interfering). --=20 Best of Luck, Rick Rogers aka "Nutcase" MS-MVP - Win9x - = http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WinXP - Expert Zone - = www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Win98 Help - www.rickrogers.org "Clinton" wrote in message = ...
