Default Backing up file on XP to a CD

Good Afternoon:
I am trying to backup a file to a CD.
Copied the directions and started to follow them.
But, when I hit copy, a note comes up that Drive D
not accessable. It will not allow me to copy.
Do I need additional downloads?
We thank you very much.

The XP backup program does not allow you to back up to a CDR.
You need to back up to a folder on your HD and then burn the file to =
CDR.
