Ran Check Diskin Disk Utilities; Rebooted to access drive...
I tried to run a disk check on four partitions (c,d,e, and j) fromthe
Utilities tabunder disk properties. It couldn't lock the disk so it asked if it could check the partitions on reboot. I said yes. The first check ran OK on C: (the blue XP logoed screen came up and the disk check completed) and then the computer did not continue on to the other disk checks. It stopped after completing the check on C: and I was stuck at that screen. When I try to boot in Safe mode, there is a lot of disk access, but the system will not come up so I can't run System Recovery to turnoff these disk checks. Is there anything I can do to fix this short of reinstalling Windows XP Professional? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, this makes sense. Thanks, Monte Olsen |
