Default read-only problem for me, too, just 1 folder

where is this folder? are you sure it's going to be safe to remove it? Have
you tried creating a small file on these folders to check it remains
visible?
depending on what file system is on the drive, you might be able to use a
bootable disk from a previous OS, eg win98 and boot to command prompt then
manually delete it from there.

I've got an empty folder, with an empty subfolder, which
won't let me remove the read-only attribute, and keeps
erroring that I can't delete it since it's "in use",
which is a joke. Tried starting up under every possible
config, still "in use". BS, it's 0 bytes!!! How do I
delete the %$#%^ folder?
