Physical Memory Dump???
Chris, have you found a solution? Mine has started same
thing. Only thing I have done is download some Microsoft updates. Thanks. tjenk -----Original Message----- I am running Windows XP Pro. I was working yesterday and experienced some weird behavior. An Error reporting window appeared and said that Microsoft Windows had experienced an error. I reported the error and was taken to the online crash analysis website. The OCA website said that the error was caused by a device driver. I was ok with that. I havent installed (or removed) any hardware in weeks. A few minutes later this whole thing happened again. I went to have dinner and came back to my computer showing a dark blue screen saying that something was wrong. It said something to the effect of (if i remember correctly) "beginning physical memory dump. error in these files [files]. if this is not the first time this has happened do this and that...otherwise restart". So I restarted. On restart, I saw the manufacturers logo (normal) then the screen goes black, the hard drive light stays on and nothing happens, except for the odd grinding sound. However, I have not been able to ascertain whether this sound is produced by the internal speaker or the hard drive. I appreciate any insight or assistance with this problem. Chris Dedels . |
