Default OT Gmail question

Can anyone suggest a better news group for this question? I've generally
not had good luck with company support.

My Gmail ap, basic HTML, sends the email message if I hit Enter after
completing the Subject line. I do this from force of habit embarassingly
sp? often. Is there any way to stop this or at least offer me an 'Are you
sure?'?

TIA

According to this (out of date) composition, Gmail supports
POP3 and IMAP, implying you can do more than webmail. You should
be able to use regular email clients. There will be some functional
differences by using the alternate protocols, which I can't rhyme
off right now.

Some of the popular emailer providers, offer some of these services
for free, and others are charged services. Presumably there is a
revenue stream difference, if you switch to POP3 and they can't
"monetize" what you're doing and make a few coins for themselves.
Google will always be able to scan all your incoming and outgoing
mail, to collect "advertising hints". But with a regular email
client, all they can do is "spam you" to make coin. And they won't
keep customers very long if they do that :-)

Yes, it does, and as far as I'm concerned, it's far and away a much
better way to use Gmail than on the web.
