I concur, I am spoiled, it's cheap and works so much more smoothly
than
all the other start button replacements, but I miss the logo for the
windows vista/7 logo and its colorfulness.

I have the same start button as Windows 7.

Me too.

Me three.

Guess I should have expanded.

Right click on the start buttonConfigure Start8What should the start
button look like?Custom imagePick imagea folder will open with a
variety of start button choices.

the newest version deleted that choice for some reason, copyright issues?

No, it's still there--on the Style page.

Looks like they removed the Windows 7 style start button icon but the
option is still there for other icons? If so you can download similar
looking Windows 7 icons and place them in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Stardock\Start8\StartButtons

Start8 1.30 Changelog
-Updated for Windows 8.1 RTM compatibility

-Added self-contained menu skinning for Windows 8/8.1(though
WindowBlinds skins will still work globally). See the "Which theme do
you want to use" dropdown for an example. A library section for new ones
is available at http://www.wincustomize.com/explore/start8_menus.

-The included Start8ThemeEdit.exe (in the application folder) can be
used to create new Start8 menu skins.

-New default Start button image. The Windows logo is no longer available
as a default selection. You can download additional Start8 buttons from
WinCustomize.com!

The "Simple Glossy Orb" on the page below is very similar to the Win 7
start button.

Under string theory, there may be 11 (or is it 16?), dimensions but some
are coiled up in ways that we don't notice :-)
