Don't load at start up
Hello, I write you to ask you, a problem with my windows 8.1 at the start.
When I turn on the computer (not to the reboot because, It work) the page of start doesn't load it, but one remains screened with only the prompt of the mouse. I have to press the key of turn on, to activate the situation of stand by. Then I must press key another one time to return at the start page. How can I resolve this situation ? Perhaps from bios? Thanks a lot Fabrizio |

Thanks a lot Fabrizio When you see the flashing cursor in the upper left hand corner, the suggestion here is to change the BIOS boot order. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...1-75765c8b1299 It's also possible the BIOS is not detecting the hard drive, but if that was the case, it would likely give a "no boot device" kind of message instead. In this thread, it turns out a USB thumb drive was preventing proper boot. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...c6bbf8d?page=2 Some USB printers have a flash memory interface, and if you leave an SD plugged into the printer, it might stop the attached computer from booting. My cursor is in at center of the monitor. I have a samsung r60 plus
notebook, and in the bios the hard disk is first for the boot, the cd player at the second. |

I am having trouble with this. Could you post it in Italian? Not to be mean, it's just that the English is not making sense to me, and I'd like to try to understand it in the language you're most comfortable with. -- Gene E. Bloch (Stumbling Bloch) |

Mille grazie, Fabrizio. To be honest, in Italian I also had trouble understanding this :-) I went to Google Translate, and got this: "Hello, as I wrote earlier when I turn on the laptop for the first time, not because it works with the reboot, it gets stuck at a screen with only the mouse cursor in the middle. To fix everything and get to the home page, I have to push the power button, he goes stand-by. At that point I press the button and re-charging completely. I do not understand where the problem lies. From bios, hard-disk first CD player USB pen second place third in the boot." I will have to reply in English, since I am very bad in Italian... I believe that either your BIOS or your hard-disk is not working properly. This could be a hardware problem with the BIOS or a hardware problem with the hard-disk. Also, from another recent thread, someone (maybe it was Paul), pointed out that if the CMOS battery is low, the BIOS could lose its settings. I don't think it could be a problem with the USB port or the CD drive, since they are second and third in the boot sequence. If anyone reading this thread understands Italian better than I do, or recognizes the cause of this problem, please respond. The language problem is not too bad for me, but I don't think I understand the problem with the laptop. -- Gene E. Bloch (Stumbling Bloch) |
